Models and actresses sought after for IVF donations

The hottest role these days for a young actress? Egg donor.

Egg “agents” are aggressively recruiting models and actresses, whose looks are coveted by couples turning to in-vitro fertilisation.

Robyn Young, who has appeared in shows such as “Boardwalk Empire”, at first rejected the ads on casting sites such as Backstage.com. But the money proved too much to resist — she made between $US8,000 ($8,400) and $US10,000 for her first donation, in 2009.

“I didn’t want to be a stripper. I wanted to figure out my career, so there was really no other choice at the time,”” Young said.

After that donation, her name was entered into a database. Now egg agents call constantly.
