Dr. Michael Goodin, associate professor of plant pathology from the University of Kentucky, joins episode 45 to talk about how coffee viruses are important threats to sustainable production.

The coffee ringspot virus, which is spread by insects, have what Dr. Goodin calls “unusual molecular aspects.” Goodin also gets into his reasons why he enjoys researching coffee, as it is a high-value crop that helps farmers in the developing world, and is a product enjoyed by people worldwide.

Nat Graham, a graduate student in the University of Missouri Biology Department, co-hosts this episode.
