  1. There are actually many alternate herbicides that can be used to kill milkweed. No farmer wants milkweed in his crops. If roundup was gone today there would not be any great return of milkweed. In fact, roundup at normal rates is rather weak on milkweed. 2,4-D, Banvel, Crossbow Status and others are better and can be sprayed over the top of corn. Just another fake reason in the assault on GMO’s by under informed activists.

    • YES! I have tried to make this point many times. Farmers will alway work to minimize compateition from weeds. Certainly, roundup is particularly effective at doing that, but if it were to go away, they will achieve the same result with other compounds or by other means.

  2. I think the last one is the most offensive. It assumes that people, especially farmers in particular, are just fucking stupid and will continue spending money using something that doesn’t work. It’s not just that it’s wrong, it’s that it implies we’re all stupid.

  3. Not surprising, since the so-called “Cornucopia Institute” has been out campaigning against pesticides for about 4 decades. They’re a bunch of dirty old hippies in communes, smoking whatever weed they can find. They can’t feed anyone, not even themselves. They live off of the public dole, food stamps, eating out of dumpsters, rats & garbage.

    • They sure contribute a lot of money to Washington for a group of people who can’t feed themselves.
