The latest Genomics & Health Impact Update has a primer on genetic links to obesity—a must read. It also links to a summary of statistics and strategies to confront the problem. In the light of new genomic research, it’s becoming clear why campaigns to cut obesity by banning certain foods usually have no impact, and can be counterproductive.
